Simple Strings is a string group founded to allow all string players irrespective of their ability play together. It is split it to 3 sections:
Beginner to Intermediate
Grade 4 and Onwards
The aim is to instill a love of ensemble playing right from the very start of string learning.
Simple Strings performs every term, and is open to any string player wishing to play in an ensemble.
Simple Strings was started in 1997 by Sally Daniel the mother of Agnes Daniel on their family Houseboat Pelican. She wanted to form an ensemble where all of her pupils could play together irrespective of their standard and learn the essential skill of ensemble playing right from the start.
Simple Strings has held 3 summer courses and one residential course, and has multiple pieces commissioned for them.
